How We Build Kids

Built around how kids actually develop.

Every kids program at Guido's keys in on the four stages of childhood development: Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, and Social. We call it PIES. It is how we structure classes, design drills, and build the relationships that turn a shy four-year-old into a confident kid who walks into school with a quiet sense of who they are.

  • P Physical

Coordination, strength, control of the body.

  • I Intellectual

Focus, problem-solving, learning how to learn.

  • E Emotional

    Confidence, self-regulation, handling setbacks.

  • S Social

    Respect, teamwork, friendship across ages.

Before You Sign Up

Common questions about Juniors Mixed Martial Arts in Clovis, CA.

What is the best kids MMA in Clovis for beginners?

Juniors MMA at Guido's is built for beginners. Most of our students started with zero experience. The first month is about learning the structure of class, building basic body mechanics, and getting comfortable. Beginners are welcome in every class at our Clovis dojo.

Will my child be fighting in class?

No. Sparring is introduced only when an instructor determines a student has the technique and self-control to handle it safely, and even then it is always controlled and supervised. Most of class time is technique, drilling, and conditioning.

What is the ABCs of Conflict Avoidance?

It is the methodology we teach kids for handling bullying and other tough situations. Awareness of what is happening, the ability to de-escalate before things go sideways, and the confidence to defend themselves with integrity if it comes to that. The goal is not to make fighters. The goal is to raise kids who do not need to fight.

Will training make my kid more aggressive?

No. Real martial arts training has the opposite effect. The Juniors MMA program at our Clovis dojo builds composure, not aggression. Students learn to control their reactions, not amplify them.

How long are the classes?

Juniors MMA runs 45 minutes per class, up to five days a week. Two or three classes per week is the right rhythm for real progress.

What is the difference between Juniors MMA and Juniors BJJ?

Juniors MMA blends Mixed Martial Arts and Karate fundamentals: striking, footwork, body control, and basic ground awareness. Juniors BJJ focuses on grappling and ground-game self-defense. Many of our students eventually train both.

What does the trial cost?
