A real methodology for handling bullying situations through awareness, de-escalation, and confidence. Kids learn to avoid, de-escalate, and defend with integrity.
Confidence built through earned achievement is different from the kind that gets handed out. Kids who train here earn their rank. That distinction shows in how they walk and how they handle hard things outside this dojo.
Families from Old Town Clovis, Harlan Ranch, Northeast Clovis, and Fresno bring their kids to Guido's every week. See drive times from your neighborhood.

LEARN MOREWe teach the ABCs of Conflict Avoidance, a methodology designed to give kids the tools to handle bullying situations through awareness, de-escalation, and confidence. Through our Bully Prevention and Child Safety approach, kids learn to avoid, de-escalate, and defend with integrity.
A student who has trained for a few months walks differently, responds to pressure differently, and projects a kind of quiet confidence that most bullies are specifically looking to avoid. The physical skill is secondary to this.
No child trains outside their age group or skill level. Contact is controlled and introduced progressively.
Every instructor on staff has passed a background check before working with children at Guido's. No exceptions.
Every instructor at Guido's is a nationally certified professional. Shihan Mike Guido reviews every student's progression personally and holds the staff to the same standard he holds himself to on the mat. The training your child gets here is the training you would want them to get.
Parents can observe any class from the viewing area at any time. No appointment required.

Children can start as young as 3 years old in our Little Ninjas program. Little Ninjas is built specifically for ages 3 and 4 with shorter classes, fun, and age-appropriate fundamentals. From there students move into Big Ninjas (5 to 6), then Juniors MMA or Juniors BJJ (7 to 12).
No child is required to spar. Contact training is introduced progressively when an instructor determines a student has the technique and self-control to participate safely. Every introduction to live training is supervised, age-matched, and optional.
Yes, with the right structure and instructors. Safety protocols are built into the curriculum. Instructors are nationally certified, mats meet impact safety standards, and parents can observe every session.
Martial arts training has a documented positive effect on children with ADHD and focus-related challenges. The structure, physical outlet, predictable routine, and immediate feedback loop address several of the core difficulties these children face in other settings.
Ages 3 to 4 start in Little Ninjas. Ages 5 to 6 start in Big Ninjas. Ages 7 to 12 choose between Juniors MMA (Mixed Martial Arts and Karate) or Juniors BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu). Many kids in the 7 to 12 age band end up training both as they grow with the academy.
Class lengths are tuned to each age group. Little Ninjas and Big Ninjas run 30 minutes. Juniors MMA and Juniors BJJ run 45 minutes. Every program meets up to five days a week.
For your trial, just comfortable athletic clothes and a water bottle. Training happens barefoot on the mat. Your free Guido's t-shirt is included with your one-week trial.
Progress is visible in several ways. Belt promotions mark formal advancement and happen when the instructor nominates a student based on demonstrated competency. Most parents report changes in behavior at home before they see the belt ceremony.
Two classes per week is the recommended minimum for real progress. Three classes is ideal for students who are serious about belt progression.
Our trial is one full week of classes for $59. It includes a free Guido's t-shirt. Click any trial CTA on this page to pick a start date on the calendar. You can also call (559) 477-2053 or walk in during business hours.
